Keys and Cocktails

  • The Forge 3-7 Delancey Street London, NW1 7NL United Kingdom (map)

Experience the curious and beguiling sounds of historical wind instruments as they were heard by the nobility of Revolutionary Europe. Boxwood & Brass take you on a night-time journey through the courts of Germany and Austria at the turn of the 19th century in our modern take on Nachtmusik, the fashionable entertainment of the period. Beginning with the symphonic grandeur of one of Mozart’s late symphonies distilled into an intense 6-part arrangement, we’ll lead you through a sequence of ever-more-intimate serenades, culminating in one of Beethoven’s most popular works as transformed by his student Carl Czerny, all served up with classic cocktails to help you party like it’s 1805.

The first half of the programme will feature Tessitori Music, perforing works for Viola and Guitar.
